The purpose of this workshop, which was held from 17 to 18 March 1997, was to develop children's artistic taste; stimulate their imagination; encourage them to be creative; familiarize publishers of children's books with the generally-accepted principles concerning the design of children's book covers, which should be consistent with the content of the book; and train children to abstract the literary content of a story or a book and convert it into an artistic work. The workshop was of benefit to the following:
