وتؤكد هذه الوثيقة من جديد الدعائم الأساسية التي يتسم بها مسار منطقتنا في مجالي نـزع السلاح وعدم الانتشار، اللذين سبق أن كانا ضمن مبادرات إقليمية ووثائق دون إقليمية كثيرة؛ وهذه الدعائم هي حظر جميع أسلحة الدمار الشامل، بما فيها الأسلحة النووية، والالتزام بإنشاء نظام للقضاء الكامل والتدريجي على الألغام المضادة للأفراد، وبذل الجهود الحاسمة لتنفيذ توصيات برنامج عمل الأمم المتحدة المعني بالأسلحة الصغيرة والأسلحة الخفيفة.

Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted that the process of globalization of society (from economic-social, legal-political and cultural aspects alike), should follow basic postulates of international law, that is, the principle of equality before the law (through multilateral and bilateral agreements), strengthen the treatment of human rights in an equitable and equal manner and reduce the gap between rich and poor, in order to enable developing countries to participate more equitably in the globalized new world order.
