The outcome of the World Summit on Sustainable Development would be a real success and the Rio generation conventions would be effectively implemented only if all States worked together at all levels to meet the expectations of hundreds of millions of children and young people, hundreds of millions of women and men throughout the world through bold decisions, positiveinitiatives and just solutions which would help to provide sustainable responses to environmental challenges. Every State must therefore contribute effectively to the common struggle against desertification in the affected countries.
وأضاف أنه ليس من المتصور أن يتحقق نجاح حقيقي للقمة العالمية للتنمية المستدامة والتنفيذ الفعال لاتفاقيات جيل ريو إلا إذا قامت الدول بالعمل معاً على جميع المستويات لتلبية تطلعات مئات الملايين من الأطفال والشباب ومئات الملايين من الرجال والنساء في جميع أنحاء العالم عن طريق اتخاذ إجراءات جريئة ومبادرات إيجابية وحلول عادلة تساعد على تحقيق استجابة مستدامة للتغيُّرات البيئية، ويجب على كل دولة أن تسهم بشكل فعال في الكفاح المشترك للتغلب على التصحر في البلدان المتضررة.
